From the weekend:
Potatoes in love ;] // Lotion Bar
Lotion bars (shea & olive) // Saturday bike ride on our local trail
These lotion bars are awesome. Ohmygoodness. So convenient. I keep one in an old altoids tin in my purse and one pretty much follows me around the house. For the one with shea butter I used this recipe.
For the one with olive oil, you just replace the shea butter with olive oil. (I got this idea from a friend!) The hardest part about this recipe is cleaning beeswax off the bowls and utensils you use. Honestly. (The trick is to boil them, then use a dry cloth to wipe off the wax while they're still hot!)I just wanted to try these, not make like 12 bars, so I did a tiny recipe of each. About a 1/2 oz (on the kitchen scale) of each ingredient made one of each bar. I simply poured them into cupcake liners in my muffin tin and they hardened very quickly on the counter. I like the idea of using those silicone molds in the cake aisle, but I also like to work with what I've got!
Lotions bars are a generally new concept to me, anyone else use/make them?
