weekends

Just popping in to say 'hey' and share some weekend (a couple weeks ago) pictures.  Some fall fun was had, but today it's been spitting snow off and on.  Silly Maine. =]




We met friends for lunch and were pleasantly surprised that it was the weekend of LL Bean's Pumpkin Fest.  (or whatever it's called.)  There were 10,000 or so pumpkins.  So fun to look at!  We didn't stay late enough into the day to see them lit, but it was fun to see them in the daylight too. =]



We also had a donut picnic and that was fabulous.  There were employees standing on on the street with samples.  You should not target pregnant women with free samples of donuts.  Okay, I didn't mind.  They were a delicious treat. =]

The weather has been so unseasonably warm here lately, but it seems this past weekend may have ushered in true November weather.  It's chilly and I'm beginning to want to go into hibernation mode.  This is great for our apartment because I got some serious cleaning/organizing (nesting?) done this morning.  Now I'm beat and plan to take a quick nap while the kiddo is still down for hers.

What's on your agenda these days?

28 weeks

How far along: 28 weeks!

How big is baby: Something like 2 - 2.5 lbs.  Aww. 

Total weight gain: 24 lbs.  I did guess about my pre-pregnancy weight.  Let's hope the guess was low. ;]

Maternity clothes: Jeans absolutely.  I also *heart* leggings and tights.  And of course the maxis.

Sleep:  Getting a little harder to get comfy.

Best moment of the week: We think we have a name for both genders.  No, we're not telling. =]  Also, learned that babe is head down!  Woohoo!

Food cravings:  Meh.

Food aversions: Nope.

Symptoms: Just feeling heavy I guess.  I know, I'm going to get heavier!  Haha.

Movement: All the time.  And most recently my hipbones have been sources of enjoyment.

Gender: It's either a boy or a girl.  =P

What I’m looking forward to: Newborn snuggles.

What I miss: Putting on shoes & socks with ease. ;]

Next appt:  November.  And all my appts from here on out are scheduled.  We're getting so close!

Reading:  Baby Catcher, and I'm so enjoying it!

thankful

Lately I'm thankful for...

// pumpkins from a friends' patch and from our CSA.  Love seeing this fall display on our kitchen table.

// going outside after Ziva's nap on Tuesday, and seeing that someone had anonymously gifted us 2 tires for our car.  That we really needed.  How awesome is that?!  Whoever you are, thank you so much, and we pray that God blesses you in return.

// homemade instant oatmeal via the homemade pantry.  Because it makes breakfast come a little sooner. 

// the pre-frost harvest CSA basket.  Holy moly!  So much food, and much preserving going on.

// 24 weeks!

// getting over our colds, slowly but surely, but still taking some time to rest and relax here and there.

// looking forward to a weekend with friends' & a day spent at the fair.

// playing 'matching' with a little girly, and marveling that she's actually old enough to play.

what are you thankful for this weekend?

apple picking

We went apple picking Saturday afternoon and now I have about one million photos to share with you. =]  Remember last year?  We're planning on going picking again once more before the season is over.  Apple picking is my absolute favorite of all the picking.  I could honestly care less about berry picking, I just like the harvest.  But apple picking?  I love the experience.  And I got myself a little quart of cider and warmed a cupful on the stove before bed.  Fall is (almostofficially) here!

23 week update!

How far along: 23 weeks!

How big is baby: Um, pretty big.  But not nearly as big as he/she will get.  =]

Total weight gain: We shall see on Monday.

Maternity clothes:  My jeans that I wear most days are getting tighter.  Especially after stuffing myself at birthday parties.  I might have a couple more normal pairs in my closet that are bigger from postpartum shopping last time. ;]

Sleep:  Love it.

Best moment of the week: Still just loving the movement.  Baby is so dance-y.

Food cravings:  Nothing related to pregnancy, everything related to it being fall.

Food aversions: Nada

Symptoms: Got a pretty lame leg cramp the other night.  Luckily my hubs helped me stretch it and we put a hot rice pack on it.  But, ouch!

Movement: Yesyesyes!  And for the record, 2.0 is a big fan of pumpkin spice coffee, just like mama.

Gender: It's a mystery.

What I’m looking forward to: I'm excited to reach 24 weeks. (Viability.)

What I miss: Okay, bending at the waist without grunting.

Reading:  Same as last time.  And of course the occasional flip through of '20,000 Names for Baby'. =]
