Here's the receiving blanket I made a couple weekends ago. I just loooove the striped flannel I think it's so sweet. The striped fabric was in the red tag section at Joann for $3 a yard. I used one yard for the blanket and another yard of just plain blue flannel for the opposite side. I made the rounded corners by tracing a cd on the corners and cutting. After I stitched the blanket and turned it right side out I ironed the edges and the zig zag topstiched the edging for decoration and duribility. I was thinking of selling this to my sister to give as a gift to her boss who is expecting, but while ironing the solid blue side I noticed that there is one tiny spot that's threadbare! =[ Guess I'll just have to keep it for when I have little ones. =]
I plan on making matching burp cloths that are light blue terry cloth on one side.
