Oh. My. Cuteness.

::Squeeeeee!:: I got two XS bumgenius all in ones today and I almost squealed in the post office parking lot at their incredibly tinyness! I took a picture with my hand as a comparison. I can't wait to use these!! =]

Also, I have come to a point in my pregnancy that I no longer want to bend over if I don't have to. So I bought some slip-on shoes at Kohls today. They were 70% off. =D

Knitting Madness

I was so happy that I had enough leftover merino from my longies to make this soaker! Merino is way too beautiful and soft to go to waste! I knit the entire thing Thursday. It was so quick and easy to do I can't wait to make a few more! So for a grand total of $20 I was able to make 2 pairs of longies and a soaker! Not too shabby if you ask me!! =]

So you may remember my knit "Uggs" that I made for my friend's twins, and they ended up being very large, at least for a newborn. (See link--->http://08melissab.blogspot.com/2009/01/faux-baby-uggs.html) I have plenty of leftover Berroco Suede (the darker color that was used for the bottom) to make a pair or two for my little one. But, seeing she'll be born in November (the same month the twins were born) I want them to be small enough for her to actually wear when it's cold. At first I was going to just try knitting the pattern on smaller needles and seeing what happened. But it's knit flat and seamed and I'd so much rather knit in the round. So what I'm doing currently is trying to adapt the sock pattern I just used to make some smaller booties. You don't get quite that same boot shape, so we'll see. =]

PS - While the boots are cute and all, I CAN'T STAND working with Berroco Suede. I am itching to get my hands on some good wool!!!

Getting Back Into Crafting

It feels soooo good to be back into regular crafting. Why did I stop you may ask? Camp. I know I live at camp year round and it would be very easy for me to walk upstairs to my apt and craft, but I just felt so antisocial. So here I am again, covered in sawdust and paint, and searching ravelry for my next knitting project. =] Bliss.

Also, my mom and I are thinking of starting up a monthly (or bi-weekly) Knitogether. (I came up with that myself. =D) I would so enjoy sitting around with a bunch of ladies, just chatting and knitting and perhaps having some snacks! So that's in the works. I think it would be fabulous.

DH, BIL and I went to the "Maine Farm Days" over the weekend. I kind of just tagged along because there was nothing to do at home... and in hopes of seeing some alpacas. I was in luck! They had two crias (babies) there, and I decided that semi-posing with them would be a good opportunity for a belly pic! So here it is! 28 weeks, 1 day.
Isn't he the cutest??
Last week I was able to visit with my 90 (?) year old great-grandmother and she gave me a sweet quilt for the baby. It was made by one of our relatives and she bought it from her. She is my last living great-grandparent, so it's really special that we got a gift for the baby from her. =] She said the fabric was very old - I am thrilled that my daughter owns some vintage Strawberry Shortcake!!

And of course... fresh off the needles, a bunny hat! =] It's size 3-6 months. And sooo cute!

Maybe I'll make some matching socks to go with it! =]

Where Have I Been?

I feel like a really uncommitted blogger. But it's not really my fault. =] My computer turns on when it feels like it. SO. ANNOYING.

So anyway. We had a lovely trip to Apalachin, NY this past weekend for a friend's wedding. Ben was a groomsman, so we left our house Friday morning at 7:30am and got to the church about 45 minutes before the rehearsal was supposed to start at 5. The wedding was beautiful! It started at 11, we stayed 'till about 2:20, and were able to make it back home by 11 that night. So much driving! I drove for 2 hours on the way home. Wheee go me. Haha. Whilst driving, I beat Ben at 2 out of 3 rounds of the ABC game. (The one where you find each letter on signs, license plates, etc...) It was fun. =]

So here we are driving. Sweet. =]

And now for my latest blogworthy knits. ::drumroll please::

More merino longies. This time DH picked the yarn. I think they're a little boyish. So I added a flower. But I forgot that it should have 5 petals...so it's a little like a 4 leaf clover? Lol. Well they're cute anyway. =]

And last but not least, cupcakes!! I made these for my friend Alicia's daughters, who are 18 months & twin 8 month olds. From left to right they are in order of which one I made first. You can kind of tell that they got better as I knit each one and adapted the pattern to make them look a little better. Here's a link to the pattern: http://ax174.blogspot.com/2006/02/my-own-pattern-iv-cupcake.html The adaptions are all listed at the bottom, I kind of took things from different ones and I think my last one turned out pretty sweet! (Pun intended. ;])
